Finally, untangled with restrain, but so easily lost. A story of Apples prior problem with AirPods wireless headphones.

Hi I am a Sophomore Business Administration Major from Saint Michaels College. I run Varsity Cross Country in the fall and also Swim Division Two for the College.  In the past I have had a distinct interest in technology, and the advances that were occurring in the markets. Technology has made life easier, by providing users the ability to communicate with the external world. In this blog we will discuss Apples remedy for lost headphones, how Apples AirPods work, and a more in depth look at the companies various Marketing and Business strategies.

This is a picture of me during the winter Cross Country banquet.

Apple, the major tech giant, which produces well known products such as the Iphone, Ipad, and Macbook series, has now released a new update for Find My iPhone. This app in the past has used Wi-Fi connectivity or GPS service through cellular data to find your device. With the release of AirPods, Apples version of wireless headphones, it is much easier to lose the product verse traditional headphones. It’s critical that the company addressed the concern of losing the product with additional support from their preexisting app.
This is a display of the Find My iPhone app running on the iPhone 7

The new development of the Find My iPhone app has allowed users the ability to find an AirPod when it gets lost. Although the headphones do not allow for Wi-Fi or data capability, the phone is able to remember the location at which the device has been left. Consumers will likely say that the device doesn't always give an accurate location when the pods are not in range, but it is helpful to have an idea of the general region the product may be. When the AirPods are within range of an Apple device they will be able to provide sound feedback so the user may locate the missing headphone. This could be helpful for those who put the pods in a purse or backpack.

This image depicts Emily's AirPods playing a sound, and also giving their location on a map.
AirPods, use infared sensers when they are in your ear, so that they don't play when you have no desire to listen. You may use Siri with this device, by double tapping on the side of either pod the Artificial Intelligence will become readily available and be able to change songs, call a friend, or even give you directions while you are traveling. What is different about these headphones is that you don’t plug them in during or after use, because they automatically charge when put in the case. The pods are put in their charging case, which holds up to twenty-four hours of charge. The charging case itself uses the same Lightning bolt connector that plugs in to your Iphone so that you can charge the pods on the go without having to always worry about having a charging port available.

One of apples main strategies is to use brand loyalty by providing customers with satisfying products that lead to a consistent habit of buying their tech. Apple does a good job with making their devices compatible, so if you have one of their products then you may use it with the other seamlessly. The Iphone has the ability to use Bluetooth, just like an Android, but the apple device will connect much quicker. When you own both a Macbook and an Iphone, it is much easier to switch over which device you are using the Airpods with, verse an Android product. With the consumer market leading towards wireless devices, many consumers beliefs are that devices should work together seamlessly.
Apple uses their deep understanding of problem recognition, to create better products for their current and future customers. They recognize that people like what is more convenient, so they are making everything wireless. They also look into post purchase value of the product, by providing exceptional technical support on their products, they give the consumers a need to continue their involvement. Apple is very successful with their branding, because they make members feel a part of a brand community, they have iMessage which only works on Apple products. iMessage allows for users to easily communicate and further their social, safety, and personal needs.
I believe that Apple users will continue to buy their products, if the company needs stays innovative, and thinks of products before others. I personally myself am an iPhone and MacBook user.  In the past when having music was on the go was becoming popular, Apple revolutionized the market by creating the iPod. This device made music portable with a very broad selection of music which was a situational influence. They then created their phone and now the Airpods. I think that they will continue to enhance the ability of their products against competitors, which will allow for them to do well in the future.

Thank you for reading, I hope you learned something about Apple you may have not known prior.
It will be interesting to see how Apple products continues to develop within everyday life. Please give my page a follow!
